Arrest – Carousel shopping centre incident

Cannington Detectives have charged a juvenile male after an incident at Carousel Shopping Centre on Friday 10 May 2024.

About 3.30pm, two groups of people were in the shopping centre when one person from each group (16yrs and 20yrs) allegedly became involved in a physical altercation resulting in the 20-year-old man receiving facial injuries after a punch to the face.  He was conveyed to hospital for medical treatment.

It will be alleged the 16-year-old male was initially armed with a knife but the victim managed to grab it and throw it away.  It is also alleged during the altercation the juvenile male obtained a second knife.  Both knives have been seized by police.

A 16-year-old male from Rivervale has been charged with:

Being Armed in a way that may cause Fear; and

Stealing.

He has been remanded in custody to appear before the Perth Children’s Court tomorrow, Sunday 12 May 2024.
