New Sherriff Skyline to debut at The Bend

Must read

THE successor to Brad Sherriff’s eye-catching Nissan Skyline will make its competitive debut this weekend.

Sherriff’s new blue Nissan Skyline R34 GTR had been due to make the 2024 National Sports Sedans season-opener at Symmons Plains, only to be ruled out due to a pre-event testing crash.

The Racetech Performance beast is now ready to go for Round 2 of the series at The Bend Motorsport Park, as part of the Shannons SpeedSeries round across May 31 to June 2.

That will see the Tasmanian go head-to-head with the likes of Supercars star Thomas Randle, who’ll be racing his Snowy River Caravans-backed Saab.

Sherriff had previously raced a red R32 which stole the show at the 2023 Bathurst 12 Hour when it reached speeds of 327km/h – and maybe more.

That car became the centre of a power-to-weight debate and was soon benched. It is now listed for sale at a price of $200,000.

In addition to National Sports Sedans, The Bend will this weekend play host to TCR Australia, Trans Am, GT World Challenge, GT4, Australian Production Cars and Porsche Sprint Challenge.
