Amazon Pours Lobbying Dollars Into New York on Tech, Labor Bills

Amazon.com Inc. is beefing up its New York lobbying ahead of a 2024 legislative session when Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) and legislators will consider action on artificial intelligence, data privacy, and labor conditions at its warehouses.

Amazon recently has spent more than its large tech rivals—roughly $60,000 per month—on swaying public officials in New York, records show. The tech giant’s lobbying activity includes Hochul and at least 20 legislators on more than a dozen pending bills, according to the filings.
