A 38-year-old man was killed in a broad-daylight Brooklyn shooting Tuesday, police said.
The gunfire erupted on Vermont St. near New Lots Ave. in East New York just before 2:20 p.m., according to cops.
An employee at a nearby deli recalled hearing about 10 shots ring through the street.
“They were running,” Nasr Almnssb said of the suspects. “They looked like kids. Maybe five or six of them.”
Police called to the scene discovered the victim on the pavement suffering from a gunshot wound to his chest.
Medics rushed him to Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center, but he could not be saved.
An onlooker at the grisly scene said the victim lived on the block with his family, including about six children.
“He’s a family man,” said the neighbor, who asked to only be identified as Troub. “He was with his kids 90% of the time.”
The victim’s name was not immediately released and police were still working to track down the shooters.
