Wagga racing tips

Race 2. (12:54) Advanced Communications Riverina Maiden (1600m)

#5 – United Front @ $3.00

United Front hasn’t been too far away from the prize this season, but we’re happy to stick with him.

The four-year-old gelding by American Pharoah owns six placings from 15 starts, so he’s consistent enough to win.

It’s only a matter of time before he breaks through.

Race 3. (13:29) Alan Harris McDonald Maiden (1300m)

#3 – Mo Cent @ $2.40

Mo Cent looks to cap off three consecutive placings with a win, and he’s the best runner in the field.

The three-year-old son of Akeed Mofeed comes off a second placing at Albury when going down narrowly, so that’s a good form guide.

His odds could firm to around $1.90 on race day, so take the value.

Race 5. (14:39) Macarthur Real Estate BM58 (1000m)

#1 – Finn’s the Icon @ $4.20

Finn’s the Icon looked good winning his last two starts at Wagga, including beating a quality field last time out.

He got the better of Joey D’or, who is a nice enough type at that level, and it’s only the big weight against him here.

Punters get each-way odds for the risk.

Race 6. (15:14) MTC Charity BM82 (1400m)

#2 – Ready to Humble @ $7.00

Ready to Humble has mixed form this preparation, but his win at Canberra three back was good enough.

The seven-year-old owns seven wins from 37 starts, including two wins over the distance, so the form checks out.

It’s a tough field, but given the odds available, he’s worth including.

Cranbourne racing tips

Race 1. (17:15) Chris Newman Electrics Maiden (1000m)

#2 – Flying Mean @ $2.80

Flying Mean didn’t fire at Sandown last time out, but his form last preparation was much better.

The three-year-old son of Lean Mean Machine owns three placings from four starts overall, and it’s only a matter of time before he wins.

Getting an inside barrier is important at Cranbourne.

Race 3. (18:15) Hertz Maiden (1500m)

#9 – Hot Pursuit @ $2.45

Hot Pursuit looks to cap off consecutive second placings at Cranbourne, and we’re not surprised by the odds.

The three-year-old filly by Grunt should appreciate the rise in distance, and it should be enough to see her break maidens.

Take the $2.45 before it shortens on race night.

Race 5. (19:15) Rosemont Stud Travis Harrison C1 (1000m)

#3 – Sea Mist @ $2.35

Sea Mist won at Terang to kick off this preparation before struggling at Flemington.

The three-year-old filly by Headwater gets all favours from the draw with 3kg off her back, and that gives her every chance.

She’s not the most consistent, but we’re picking her to win.

Race 6. (19:45) Ladbroke It Mile Series BM70 (1600m)

#2 – Seb Song @ $3.50

Seb Song owns five wins and nine placings from 33 starts, so he’s good enough to handle this field.

The six-year-old gelding owns a win and a placing from four starts at the track, and he’s a three-time winner at the distance.

After opening at $4.80, his odds have firmed considerably.
